Government Museum Mathura has a good collection of artifacts in Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.

The museum displays a rich history of Mathura and you’ll find pieces from the Kushana and Gupta periods, including coins, pottery, sculptures, and paintings.

But the real highlight here is the collection of artifacts that have stood the test of time and have been preserved for thousands of years.

The museum was founded by Sir F.S. Growse, the collector of the Mathura district, in 1874 and it has gone through a few name changes. Initially, it was known as the Curzon Museum of Archaeology, then the Archaeology Museum, Mathura, and finally, it was renamed as Government Museum, Mathura.

But let’s call it what it really is, a time machine in the form of a museum.

So pack your bags and get ready for a journey through time, as you explore the ancient artifacts at the Government Museum, Mathura.”
