The temple is an ancient one over 2000 years back. It is on a forested area of Azhagarmalai. There is forest water stream- Noopura Gangai theertham.

The temple is on the hillock above Kallazhagar temple, one of the divya desam. It will take 15 minutes by shuttle bus. You can also trek along the forest bus route. It will be a pleasant one.
