Sarasgad fort is situated near the village of Pali, is a must-visit for all nature enthusiasts and history buffs.

The trail of Sarasgad Fort, starts at Balleshwar Pali temple and takes around half an hour to reach the open grassland region. It’s a moderate to very steep climb, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water. But don’t worry, the climb is worth it. You’ll get to see breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more exciting, get ready for some rock climbing! The last 5 minutes of the climb are a thrill as you navigate from one boulder to another. But don’t worry if you’re not an expert rock climber. Some basic skills will come in handy, and trust us, the view from the top is totally worth it.

Once you’ve conquered the rock climbing patch, a flight of roughly 90 uneven, tall steps cut into the rock will take you to the main entrance of the fort. And here’s a fun fact: the steps are located between the two peaks, Sarasgad and Sudhagad, forming a V-shaped intersection.

Once you reach the fort entrance, take a break and catch your breath. You’ve earned it! From here, take the trail to the right, which will take you around the fort through various structures like the dhaanya kothar and wada. And be sure to avoid the left trail, unless you’re feeling particularly brave and up for a risky challenge.

And finally, the cherry on top: the temple surrounded by a water tank at the top. Spend some time taking in the view and then head back to Pali on the same trail.

So there you have it, folks. A trek to Sarasgad fort is an adventure you won’t forget. From the breathtaking views to the rock climbing and historic structures, there’s something for everyone. So grab your hiking boots and get ready for an experience of a lifetime!
