Sanghol Museum is in Sanghol in Fategarh Sahib in Punjab.
The museum will take you a trip back in time!
It is an archaeological treasure trove that has great information about the Indus Valley Civilization, but here’s the catch: no photos allowed. And don’t even think about trying to sneak one in, the guard will be following you around like you’re a criminal.
The site comprises of a monastery with a stupa in the center. The entrance to the monastery was from the South through a brick pathway which led to the square plinth on which the stupa rested. The base of the stupa was constructed in concentric circles with radial spokes. Outside the monastery in North West corner a brick wall was built for protection from the floods.
On the basis of associated finds from the site, this monastic site can be dated between 2nd Century BC and 5th Century AD.
So pack your imagination and your notebook because you’ll need to take mental pictures, but the experience will be worth it. #nophotopolicymadness #time traveler #Sangholmuseum”
