Mumbai Planetarium is a nice place in an iconic building to hang out in the city of Mumbai.

Not only is it a great place for kids to learn about space and satellites, but it’s also perfect for adults who want to nerd out over the cosmos.

The white dome and cylindrical structure of the Nehru Planetarium are a sight to cheer, and it’s no wonder that it has stolen the hearts of countless visitors over the years. It’s like stepping into a sci-fi movie!

But it’s not just about the visuals – there are plenty of informative shows (around 30 shows ) to check out as well. The current must-see is “Awesome Universe,” a 45-minute presentation on all things cosmic. And if you want to feel out of this world, try calculating your weight on the different planets of our solar system!

But wait, there’s more! Just next door is the Science Complex, where you can catch a 14-minute show called “The Discovery of India” – a journey through the ages of our country. And if you’re into art, there are 14 galleries showcasing some incredible works and photographs.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. The Nehru Planetarium is just one part of the Nehru Centre, which also boasts a library with an impressive collection of books covering a range of topics, as well as a cultural wing that hosts various events throughout the year.

If you’re planning a visit, be sure to check out the show timings.

They vary depending on the language, so choose wisely. And if you’re like us and want to avoid lines, book your tickets at least a day in advance. Oh, and note that the Planetarium is closed on Mondays and during special festivals.

So what are you waiting for? Blast off to the Nehru Planetarium for an experience that’s truly out of this world!

And if you’re looking for the best time to go, we suggest visiting during the winter months (November to February) when the weather is just perfect for exploring Mumbai’s many wonders. See you there!
