Originally opened as the Victoria and Albert Museum, Bombay in 1872, this museum is the first of its kind in Mumbai and showcases the city’s cultural heritage and history through a stunning collection of fine and decorative arts.
The permanent collection includes everything from miniature clay models to rare books, documenting life in Mumbai from the late 18th to early 20th centuries.
But it’s not just the collection that’s impressive. The museum underwent a massive five-year restoration project, earning UNESCO’s Award of Excellence in Cultural Conservation in 2005.
