Delhi Planetarium is the place to be, if you are in Delhi with your family.

Named after India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, this fantastic planetarium is located in the heart of New Delhi, within the historic Teen Murti Bhavan, the former residence of PM Nehru, now converted into a museum in his fond memories. The Nehru Planetarium was established in 1984 by the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, with the aim of promoting astronomy education in India, and it’s been inspiring generations of kids and adults ever since.

Whether you’re a seasoned astronomer or just a curious explorer, Nehru Planetarium offers a unique and exciting experience that is sure to ignite your sense of wonder. The regular public shows, held at 11:30 AM (English), 1:30 PM (Hindi), 3:00 PM (English) and 4:00 PM (Hindi), cover a wide range of topics that are constantly updated, so there’s always something new to learn. The current program, for example, is all about the Solar System, but you can also attend digital 2D shows on asteroids, astronauts, light pollution and more!

The entry fee is reasonable and the planetarium is easily accessible by metro, with the nearest stations being Race Course Road and Jorbagh. The timings are 9 AM to 5 PM (Winters) and 8 AM to 5:30 PM (Summers), with Monday being closed.
