Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) is located in the heart of New Delhi.

It is in the campus of Nehru Planetarium in one large complex at the Teen Murti Circle, this place is a must-watch attraction for all history lovers.

Firstly, the environment is quiet and serene, despite the large number of people turning up on weekends/holidays. The museum houses the history of Nehru-Gandhi India in the form of paintings, newspaper clippings, sand/clay models of the Nehru family, his personal belongings, and a recreation of his home and office.

It’s an insightful and informative experience, especially for young children to learn from India’s rich heritage and culture. And don’t worry, if all that history makes you a little peckish, there’s a cafeteria inside the complex to cater for snacks and beverages.

The NMML is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Teen Murti House, is the official residence of the first Prime Minister of India. It has four major constituents, namely, a Memorial Museum, a library on modern India, a Centre for Contemporary Studies, and the Nehru Planetarium.

The NMML houses a specialized library which has been designed and developed as a specific research and reference center on colonial and post-colonial India. With a rich and varied collection of books, journals, photographs and other resource materials on microfilm and microfiche, this library is a treasure trove of knowledge for history buffs.

But wait, there’s more! The NMML also acquires and preserves private papers of distinguished individuals and records of political and other non-official organizations, associations, and societies that played a significant role in the development of modern India. These archival materials, which form the primary source of information for research, are made available to scholars.

So, if you’re looking for a little dose of India’s rich heritage and culture, head over to the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in New Delhi and let the history buff within you cherish the beautiful world of innovation. Trust us, it’s a real history lesson.
