Sirumalai is a part of eastern ghats merging with western ghats near Dindugul in Tamil Nadu. The altitude is around 1600 meters and it enjoys cool climate of 22 deg centigrade for most part of the year. Being a off beat place and pristine, the hills has diversified flora and fauna.
One can reach Sirumalai from Dindugul, take the Natham road and take diversion on Sirumalai road junction. After 5 kilometer scenic drive, the hill climb starts. It is a small hill with18 hairpin bends.
There are few decent cottages and can get booked during long weekends or holidays. Book in advance.
If you are bored of Ooty/Kodai and Munnar- Sirumalai can be a good weekday trip to just chill and relax.
There are coffee estates for a evening walk, a Shiva temple for the trekking enthusiasts.
