Kailasanathar Temple, is a wonderful architecture of sandstone of yester years going back to 6th Century AD. It was built by Pallava King Mahendra Varma and is similar to renowned architecture of Mahabalipuram .

The site is an UNESCO heritage site. You will be busy with your camera and it will be a delight to photograph those structures, casting myriad shadows and angles. It will take at least an hour or more to view the sculptures and complete the visit.  Since, protected UNESCO site, it has wonderful lawns and is maintained well..
