Guwahati Zoo or Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden is a 432-acre jungle paradise.
It is home to over 800 animals, birds, and reptiles from all over the world. Plus, it’s located in a real jungle, so the deers are just roaming around like it’s NBD.
But the real star of the show? The monkeys. These little guys are everywhere and they’re not shy about getting up close and personal with the visitors. Trust me, you’ll want to keep your snacks hidden. And if you’re feeling brave, you can even feed an elephant for just 20 bucks.
The zoo has some exotic animals like chimpanzees, white rhinos & black rhinos, zebras, ostriches and giraffes from Africa; puma, jaguar and llama from South America and kangaroos from Australia.
Now, I have to be honest with you, I may have missed the botanical garden. But with all the excitement of feeding elephants and dodging monkeys, who has time for plants? Plus, the zoo offers a convenient and budget-friendly ride to get around the vast property.
So pack a lunch, grab your safari hat and get ready for an adventure you won’t soon forget at the Guwahati Zoo.
