Vandalur Zoo known as Arignar Anna Zoological Garden is located in Vandalur near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. It is located roughly 15 kilometers from Chennai airport.
It is a huge zoo and one is the largest zoo in India/Asia with large collections of animals. There are over 2644 specie of fauna here and it inculdes 46 endangered specie.
The zoo is spread across 1265 acres of land, and it will take a day to view it leisurely. The entire circular road is around 2.5 kilometers and one can view the animals in natural settings by following the circular road.
It has also an aquarium inside the zoo. There is also a birds enclosure which houses migratory birds like open bill stork, white ibis, painted stork etc.,
