Chennai Snake Park Trust and Guindy Zoo are next to each other behind the Raj Bhavan forest reserve in Chennai. It is a nice place to spend half a day with children. There are small animals, reptiles, deer, monkeys are kept in captivity. There are shady trees and the the walk trails and the ambience is good.
The snake park breeds over 100 varieties of snakes and the major attraction is the King Cobra. There are shows conducted every hour in the evening which is a demonstration of poison extraction from cobra and general snake behaviour.
A visit to the park, will enrich your knowledge about snakes and other reptiles.
