Guwahati Planetarium is near the Highcourt in the city in Assam.
Using the fancy Japanese Goto instrument and a Chronos starfield projector, Digital HD video projectors, and Dolby sky theatre’s sound system, the Planetarium will transport you to the outer reaches of the universe. And for those who prefer their astronomy in Assamese, no worries, there are 4 shows just for you.
But beware, it’s closed on the 1st and 15th of every month and no photography allowed inside.
The entry ticket INR 30 entry fee is worth it to see the unique dome and sloping walls that make it stand out in the skyline.
But it’s not just about the daily shows, the Planetarium also hosts seminars, workshops, and conferences for the astronomy community, and exhibitions, quizzes, and outdoor viewing sessions during eclipses for students and the locals. And if you want to nerd out even more, they’ve got a library full of astronomical treasure.
And if that wasn’t enough, the Planetarium is also set to launch an astronomical gallery, thanks to the Creative Museum Designers (CMD) and funding from the state science and technology department. So what are you waiting for? Get down to visit Guwahati Planetarium for a mind-blowing time!”
