Vihigaon waterfall is a seasonal waterfalls situated at Vihigaon village in Thane district of Maharashtra.

But let me tell you, getting there is half the fun! The road leading up to the waterfall is decent enough, but you might want to hold on to your seat on some of those hairpin turns. And once you arrive, you’ll need to climb down several stairs to reach the magnificent 120-foot fall. But trust me, it’s worth it!

When we arrived, the water was gushing down so heavily that we had to dodge the spray just to get a closer look. People were bathing in the pool that had formed around the jutting rocks, and it was tempting to join them.

But first, we had to catch our breath from the climb down. Going down was easy, but coming back up was a different story! I may have needed a few breaks to catch my breath.

But the cool breeze and serene greenery surrounding the waterfall made it the perfect spot for a picnic. There were even some food stalls near the parking area where we could indulge in some hot spicy snacks or Maggi ! Having them after spending time at water. Delicious!

And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try rappelling down the waterfall! It’s a thrilling experience that will get your heart racing. But be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart. In fact, this waterfall has even been used as a filming location for the movie Asoka, starring Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Just a word of caution, though – this is a basic adivasi village with no facilities for hotels or accommodation. So make sure to bring some snacks and drinks with you. But honestly, the place is so good that you’ll easily spend a whole day there. So take a detour from Igatpuri or the Mumbai-Nashik highway and visit Vihigaon Waterfall. You won’t regret it!
