Thoseghar waterfalls is a scenic spot located near the small village of Thoseghar, 20 km from Satara city.

First things first, let’s talk about the height of this beauty! Thoseghar Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in India, standing tall at about 500 meters. That’s like four Eiffel Towers stacked on top of each other! Imagine standing at the viewing gallery and looking down to see this incredible waterfall drop through a series of cascades. It’s simply breathtaking.

But here’s the catch, Thoseghar Falls is a seasonal waterfall, which means you can only see it during monsoon season, between July and October. So, if you’re planning a visit, make sure you time it right.

Now, let’s talk about the fun stuff. The viewing platform and picnic area are the perfect spots to enjoy the ambience created by the falls. And if you’re lucky, you might catch sight of some of the bird species that call this place home. So, make sure you bring your binoculars and a camera to capture all the stunning moments.

But hold on, before you get too excited, you need to pay the entry fee (cash only) to the forest department.

It is maintained well, as there are walkways to move around and see different waterfalls.

And for all you adventurous souls out there, you can hike through the paths and catch sight of the deep gorge and falling waters. Just be careful not to slip on the slippery terrain during the rains. Safety first, my friends.

Oh, and here’s a pro-tip: visit during the day and leave before dark. The falls are located in a deep jungle and can get pretty lonely. So, make sure you’re back before the sun sets.

But wait, there’s more! Thoseghar Falls is just 5 km from Sajjangad Fort, which is the resting place of Saint Ramdas and is visited by devotees. And if you’re still not done exploring, head over to Kaas Pathar and Lake, also known as the valley of flowers, located around 15 km from the falls. And don’t forget to check out Chalkewadi’s famous windmill farms, hardly 2-3 km from the falls.

So, there you have it, folks. Thoseghar Falls is a must-visit spot if you’re in Maharashtra during monsoon season. The waterfall is mesmerizing, the surroundings are tranquil, and the bird watching is a delight. Plus, there are plenty of other attractions nearby to keep you entertained. Don’t forget to grab your camera, and happy travels!
