Sri Vaidyanathar Temple is a Lord Shiva temple in Beed district of Maharashtra.

It is one of the 12 jyotrilingam. It is also a Shaktisthal.

Let’s start with the tale of Rani Ahilyabhai and her love for renovation. She revamped this temple back in the 1700s, and did a great job!

Now, there are two legends associated with this temple. The first one is about the demon king Ravana, who was obsessed with Lord Shiva. After severe penance, Lord Shiva became his divine doctor, giving him medicinal herbs to cure his ailments. That’s why this place is called Vaidyanath – the land of divine doctors! And the second legend speaks of the wedding of Yogeshwari and Lord Vaidyanatha. They were turned into stone statues when the marriage party arrived late, and Yogeshwari was waiting away from Parali.

The temple is surrounded by robust walls and features a massive pillar outside. Inside, you’ll find corridors and a courtyard, with a smooth and beautiful Lingam. The maha mandapam is made of wood, and there are three Nandhis under a mandapam. The sannidhis of Trayambakeshwar, Varuneswarar, Krishneswara, Kuberar are in the outer prakaram, while the sannidhis of other Jothir lingas are located outside the temple premises.

But what sets this temple apart is that it’s the only place where Lord Shiva is with Parvati. That’s why it’s called “Anokhi Kashi,” giving it equal status to Kashi. And you can visit this temple from 5 am to 10 pm every day.

If you want to experience divine bliss and feel the vibrations of this holy shrine, head to Parli Vaijnath Temple. And don’t forget to call the temple on the landline (02446 223011) if you need any help. The temple is located 29 km from Ambajogai in the Beed district of Maharashtra state.

So there you have it, folks – the fascinating history and legends of Parli Vaijnath Temple. Whether you’re a history buff, a religious person, or just someone who loves good stories, this temple is a must-visit. Happy travels!
