Pavagada Fort is near Tumkuru near Bangalore in Karnataka. The fort was built by Vijayanagar king chieftain with watchtowers, bunkers and ammunition storage enclosures.

There is a small Lord Hanuman temple and a mosque above the top of the fort. The fort has excellent rock formations and is a rock climber’s delight. If you have any experience in rock climbing, you can challenge yourself with some steep climbs over the walls.

It will take anything between 30 to 45 minutes to climb up the fort. If you do visit in a group in morning or evening it could be a fun trip.
