Mysore Zoo is in the heart of Mysore city in Karnataka. Its official name is Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens.
The zoo is spread across 157 acres of land and is one of the oldest zoo. It was established by the Wodeyar King in the year 1892. The zoo environment is scenic with the Karanji Lake on the eastern side and the Chamundi Hills a dramatic backdrop.
Some of the attractions here are Lions, Tigers, Rhinos, Giraffes, Green Anaconda, White Tiger and White Rhinoceros.
It is a large zoo and be prepared to walk around 3 kilometers to cover all parts of the zoo. There is also a restaurant at the end of the walk trail.
