Mehrangarh Fort is one of the largest fort in India. It is in Jodhpur city in Rajasthan. It was built around 15th century by the ruler of Mandore – Rao Jodha. It is built on a small mountain and there is a winding motorable road to reach the fort. The fort is about 410 feet high and from the top is the spectacular view of Jodhpur city in blue.
The fort also has splendid display of artefacts of Mughals and other items like palanquins, armouury in the musuem. For the lovers of paintings, there is an impressive collections of miniature paintings too. For the fashion oriented, the museum also displays royal styles of turban over the periods.
There is also a Chamundi Mataji temple inside the fort.
There are folk musicians performing at the fort which will expose you to the rich folk music of Rajasthan.
