Mahimangad fort is one of the many chain forts built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to protect his eastern borders.

The fort’s masonry is characteristic of the later built forts of Maratha times, consisting of small, almost or altogether, uncut stones bound by mortar, which might not have been the best quality, but did the job.

To start your trekking journey, head to Turjabhavani temple, and from there, you’ll see the fortification of the fort. You can also visit Bhavani Mata Mandir and Lord Hanuman temple, which are both beautifully placed on the fort. And let’s not forget about the small water tank.

But wait, there’s more! The fort also has many secret doors, locally known as “Chor Darwaja,” which just adds to the excitement of exploring this magnificent structure. And the best part? Since its abandonment, the fort has become a popular sightseeing and adventure attraction in the region, and many trekking and camping tours are frequently arranged here.

So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags, grab your friends, and head over to Mahimangad fort for a day full of adventure and excitement!
