Magadi Bird Sanctuary is located near Hubli in Karnataka.
It is a fenced area of a lake, where one can spot resident and migratory birds during season.
The bird reserve spreads across 134 acres of land. The bar headed goose is the main attraction here and has migrated permanently to these wetlands.
Some other attractions are Purple herons, grey herons, painted stork, Eurasian spoon bills, cattle egrets and others during season. There is paved walking trail along the lake and a watch tower too.
Now, the bird reserve is under the control of department of fisheries, Karnataka.
