Looking for a wild and fun adventure in the Lucknow city?

Look no further, because the Lucknow Zoo is here to save the day! Also known as the Nawab Wazid Ali Shah Prani Udyan, this 71.6-acre sanctuary of nature was originally established in 1921 by Nawab Nasiruddin Haider to celebrate the visit of the Prince of Wales to Lucknow.

With over a thousand animals from over a hundred different species, including the royal Bengal tiger, white Bengal tiger, Himalayan black bear, and Asiatic lion, this zoo is a must-visit for any animal lover.

But that’s not all! The Lucknow Zoo has a plethora of activities to keep you entertained. Take a ride on the recently renovated toy train and go on a safari-like experience that’s perfect for photo ops. Or, visit the Uttar Pradesh State Museum, which showcases the rich heritage of Awadh through its exhaustive collection of artefacts, sculptures, paintings, and more.

And don’t forget to check out the Butterfly Park, which houses over 28 species of colourful butterflies and provides educational information about these fascinating creatures (for an extra fee, of course).

The Nature Interpretation Centre is a mini biological museum that will leave you in awe. From an animal mapping system to well-preserved eggs of rare birds, this centre has it all. You’ll even get to see different species of tiger cubs, and a display of different forms of animal fur and skin, including lions, tigers, deers, pandas, snakes, and more.

And if you’re a fan of history, you’ll love the Vintage Train, a replica of the British times and a historic exhibit from the colonial period.
