Jaladurga Fort is between Vijayapura and Raichur in Karnataka. The fort might have got its name due to its presence of guarding the mighty Krishna river. The fort is roughly 8 kilometer from the Basavasagar Dam site.
The place will be scenic after monsoon, when the Krishna river in majestic flow. The fort is now in ruins, and has only few standing structures. The view from the above is picturesque. One can gaze from the top, the Krishna river flowing timelessly.
It will be a good picnic spot as well. The other side of the fort is under forest department as Jaladurga reserve forest is there. One can sight small animals like fox, if one is lucky
