Bonal Bird Sanctuary is the second largest bird sanctuary in Karnataka. The bird reserve is situtated on Bonhal lake, which was built during 17th century. It spreads across 1600 acres of land and has a depth of 12 meters.

The lake has attracted a large numbers birds in the drought region. Soon, migratory birds to found a place on their southern trip over the subcontinent.

Do visit this during migratory season from November to February. There is a watch built near the lake and sitting area to observe the birds. There is a children play area but not maintained well.
