Palamu Fort is a twin fort which are now in ruins near Betla National Park in Jharkhand.

It is on the banks of Auranga river. The old fort in the plains, which existed even before the Chero dynasty, was built by the King of Raksel dynasty. The original fort in the plains and the other on an adjoining hill are attributed to the kings of the Chero dynasty.

It has a colorful history of changing hands and witnessed many battles.

One cannot take four-wheeler upto the gate. One has to trek 500 meters to reach the top.
