Fort St George is one of the origins of the the great metro Chennai now. It is built on 1639 AD and later trading other activities around the fort – helped the city of Chennai village grow. The fort currently houses the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly and other official buildings.

A large collection house of more than 3600 artefacts dating back to the entire period of the British rule – weapons, letters, coins, silverware, ceremonial dresses, medals, some personal items of the residents of the fort and many more on display.

One can enjoy the fort outside view free of cost, but to enter the museum you to pay entry fees.
