Fort Aguada is a well-preserved seventeenth-century Portuguese fort and a popular one in Goa.
It has a lighthouse with beautiful view of the Arabian sea.
The fort used to provide fresh water to ships for Portuguese. It has 79 cannons for protection of fort. It was also used as a prison in yesteryears.
It is well maintained and a main attraction for tourists. The fort extends itself till Arabian sea which is known as lower Agauda fort.
