Barkana Falls is on the Agumbe hills in Western Ghats in Shimoga district of Karnataka. The falls is a seasonal one but during monsoon the water plunges down from a height of 250 meters is a majestic sight. It is on river Seetha and is one of the top ten waterfalls based on height in India.
The trekking to the base of waterfalls is mesmerizing with a brilliant display of wide variety of flora and fauna, with the occasional blooming plants like Gurji flower once in 7 years.
