Talakona is located in Sri Venkateshwara National Park in Andhra Pradesh. The waterfalls is amidst the dense forest and is considered a biosphere reserve.

Some of the animals one can spot here are :-Slender Loris, Indian Giant Squirrel, Mouse Deer, Golden Gecko, Panther, Porcupine, Chital and Sambar.

There are number of trek routes in different categories of difficulty(from 1 km to 2 km trek), giving an option for the visitor to choose their route to reach the falls.

The falls is around 60 kilometers from Tirupati, so one can club this trip, but you need atleast more than half a day to cover it.

There are few private guest houses here as well.
