Sri Ulagalantha Perumal Kovil is one of the oldest temple in Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. There are 4 Divya Desams here – Thiru Neeragam, Thiru Karagam, Thiru Karvanam, Thiru Ooragam etc., The Lord Vishnu here was worshipped by Thirumangai Alwar.
The temple is believed to be built by Rajendra Chola during 9th century. However more than 15 incriptions have been found in the temple which belongs to various period – Pallavas, Cholas and other minor chieftains.
The temple spreads across 60,000 square feet. Parimel Azhagar, the renowned commentator for Thirukkural belongs to the priest lineage of this temple .

Various Alwars have composed poems on Lord Vishnu – 6500 years back according to legends.
