Sittanavasal Caves and Paintings is a archaeology monument near Pudukkotai in Tamil Nadu. It is similar to Pallava Caves or Badami Caves in Karnataka. It is a rock cut cave with sculptures of Lord Mahaveera. It is believed the cave complex was built during 7th century AD during Narashimha Pallava while he was practicing Jainsim. Later he converted to Hinduisum and monuments in Mahabalipuram and others have sculptures of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Buddha and Mahaveera.
