Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary is in Tripura.

This sanctuary is not just home to a variety of wildlife, but it’s also a place where you can take in the beauty of nature while learning something new. If you’re a bird lover, then you’re in for a treat! The sanctuary boasts of over 150 species of residential and migratory birds, and during winter, you might even spot some whistling teal, open-billed stork, and white ibis.

But wait, there’s more! If you’re a primate enthusiast, then you might get lucky and catch a glimpse of the rare and famous spectacled monkey. And if you’re into flora and fauna, the sanctuary has a botanical garden with over 60 species of medicinal plants and around 456 species of plants. The sanctuary is also rich in vegetation with trees like Sal, Chamal, Garjan, and Bamboo.

But let’s not forget the animals! The sanctuary is home to rare species like the crab-eating mongoose and clouded leopard, along with other animals like barking deer, jungle fowl, civets, and wild pigs. And if you’re lucky, you might even get to ride on an elephant!

And if all that adventure makes you a little tired, fear not! You can rest your head at the forest Dak bungalow called Abasarika, near the botanical garden, zoo, and boating lake. It’s the perfect way to end an adventure-filled day.
