Sankagiri Fort is a majestic fort near Salem in Tamil Nadu. It is one of the fort built by Vijayanagara kings during 15th century. Later the fort was under the control of Tippu Sultan and British. It was strategically important and one of the tallest fort – around 2320 feet, because only one side of the fort is accessible and the rest are fortified by deep slope.
