Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve is near Ooty and Mudumalai forests. This is a interesting link of bio diversity spot with merging of eastern and western ghats. According to various studies, there are more than 25 tigers making this forest as home.
There are also leopards and elephant here making one of the most conflicting zone of wild animals with humans here.
One can take safari conducted by forest department from Hasanur in a 4 x 4 vehicle and in mini bus. However, the forest is mostly deciduous in this part of region and spotting animals depends on your luck. The safari will take you for a long trip lasting more than 5.5 hours.
