“Discover the crumbling beauty of Rani ka Qila in Raipur Rani, Panchkula, Haryana! Built by a Chauhan Rajput King in the 18th century, this fort has seen better days, but is still worth a visit.

While the main complex is undergoing renovations, the residential buildings towards the end are in complete disarray, with walls covered in moss and vegetation taking over.

Take a trip back in time to the days of Rao Rai Singh, who founded Raipur Rani in 1420 and ruled over it until Indian independence, with descendants who were titled Rao Sahib. Unfortunately, the inside of the fort is off-limits, but the outside market has flourished. Admire the beauty of the old houses, though they too are in bad shape.

If you’re nearby, pay a visit to the small but well-maintained Gurudwara Sahib, where Guru Gobind Singh is said to have visited according to history. The approach to the fort may be narrow, but it’s manageable with a small car. Don’t miss the chance to explore this piece of history, despite its current state of disrepair.”
