Kaithal Fort is in Haryana.

The Jat Sikh rulers, also known as the Bhais, left their mark on the city by constructing many historic buildings and palaces. One of the oldest palaces, for example, boasts an underground escape tunnel – talk about a survival plan!

Bhai Udey Singh also built a palace in the European style, now serving as the residence for administrative officers. But the real showstopper is the Garden House, an imposing palace built by the last chief of Kaithal. This palace boasts unique entrances and a breathtaking appearance, making it a must-visit for architecture enthusiasts.

Don’t miss out on the Kaithal Fort, built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar by the Bhai Dynasty. The British Army later conquered the fort and added gates to control the city’s entry points.

Although several renovations have taken place, some original parts of the fort can still be seen. The fort was renovated in 2016 and has since become a major landmark in Kaithal, featuring several Muslim tombs from the 13th century and beyond. Get ready to be transported back in time!
