The Nangartas Falls is about 10 km away from Amboli.
This waterfalls is definitely worth visiting, especially during the monsoon season!
It’s a narrow gorge where the water falls from a whopping 45 ft height, making a din that’s hard to miss.
The best part is that the gap between the two mountains is less than 2 feet, creating a magical valley for the water to fall into. And if you catch a glimpse of sunlight, you’ll see rainbows galore!
To get a good view of this stunning sight, MTDC has developed a platform above the valley. But don’t forget to bring some extra clothes because you’ll definitely want to get wet in this waterfall!
Nangar means anchor in Marathi, which is used in farming. And true to its name, Nangartas has a natural structure that looks like it’s been anchored in place.
And if you’re worried about the entry fee, don’t be! It’s only INR 5 and can be collected from a friendly villager standing near the falls.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Near the entry of the waterfall, there’s a small temple of Sri Nangartas where you can pay your respects. And once you’ve taken in the scenic view and clicked some awesome pictures, head on over to Amboli waterfall, which is also nearby.
And let’s not forget about the small shops nearby selling delicious corn 🌽. Yum!
So, fellow adventurers, make sure to add Nangartas Falls to your bucket list.
