The Hanging Gardens also known as Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens, are terraced gardens perched at the top of Malabar Hill in Mumbai.

This terrace garden, offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea and the tall buildings of South Mumbai.

Built in 1880 by Mr. Ulhas Ghapokar, these stunning gardens are dedicated to Barrister Pherozeshah Mehta, also known as the Lion of Bombay. And if you look closely, you’ll see the letters PMG spelled out in the perfectly manicured animal-shaped hedges.

But wait, there’s more! Not only is the Hanging Garden a beautiful sight to cheer, but it also serves a practical purpose. The garden was constructed on top of a water reservoir, providing fresh drinking water to the local inhabitants.

If you’re an early bird, the Hanging Garden is the perfect place for a morning jog or yoga session. And let’s not forget the beautiful flower clock, which is a major attraction in the garden. It’s like a regular clock, but with flowers instead of numbers. Who needs numbers anyway?

But don’t just stop at the Hanging Garden, there are plenty of other nearby places to explore like Kamla Nehru Park, Haji Ali Dargah, and Queen’s necklace. And after all that sightseeing, why not hit up one of Mumbai’s bustling markets and snag some local souvenirs?

Just remember, the best time to visit the Hanging Garden is from October to June. And try to avoid going during monsoon season, unless you want to take a refreshing swim in the water reservoir!

So what are you waiting for? Take a break from the city chaos and bask in the serene beauty of the Hanging Garden. Your mind (and your Instagram feed) will thank you later.
