Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is on the Nepal border bordering Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttar Pradesh.

This protected forest stretches of 1284 square kilometers across the Lakhimpur Kheri and Bahraich districts and encompasses the Dudhwa National Park, Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary.

Dudhwa is a hot spot for both tigers and rhinos. In fact, it has become the second home for Indian rhinos, and is a major refuge for these majestic creatures. The park is also home to herds of elephants, and it’s not uncommon to see these magnificent animals cross the border into Nepal.

Now, you know, why Dudhwa is the perfect destination for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

The park is known for its abundance of flora and fauna, and its vast alluvial floodplain is traversed by numerous rivers and streams. The rich and fertile Indo-Gangetic plains support a diverse range of forests and species, including some of the best ‘Sal’ tree forests in the world.

Bird watchers will also love the park, with its various marshes and grasslands providing the perfect habitat for waterfowl and other species.

Dudhwa is split into two core areas – the Dudhwa National Park and the Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary – separated by a 15 km agricultural land. Unlike other well-known parks in India, the uncommercialized ambiance of Dudhwa makes it an ideal habitat for wildlife to find peace and comfort in a more natural setting.

So pack your bags and head on over to the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve for an unforgettable wildlife adventure!
