It is like a little slice of paradise on earth! With lush green landscapes, colorful monasteries, and a whole bunch of culture and history, this town is the perfect spot for a mini-vacation.
The Upper Gonpa and Lower Gonpa monasteries are a sight to behold, especially if you’re into Buddhism. And if you’re into culture and lifestyle, the Craft Centre and Ethnographic Museum is a must-visit spot. Plus, did you know Bomdila is the headquarters of West Kameng district? And it’s one of the 60 constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh? Talk about a small town with big credentials!
But the real highlight of Bomdila has got to be the Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s so close to Bomdila that you can almost smell the wild animals! And with all the new hotels and homestays popping up, it’s the perfect pit stop for anyone traveling to Tawang.
Just don’t expect to find too many North Indian food options, unless you’re willing to put in a special order. Do not worry, around the town, apple orchards and orchid farms are places of interest for many people and you will get fresh fruits !
The Bomdila pass offers some of the most breathtaking views of Kangto and Gorichen Peaks, which are the highest in the state. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even hike up to the New Bomdila helipad for an even better view of the whole town. But don’t worry if hiking’s not your thing, there are plenty of transport.
