Tamil Nadu has the western ghats with many high ranges of mountains at altitude of over 2500 meters. Some of its high mountains have cooler climate through out the year and the popular ones are Ooty, Kodaikanal and Valparai.
It has some off-beat hills stations too like Yercaud, Yelagiri, Kothagiri, Coonoor, Meghamalai , Kokkumalai and Kolli hills.
