Kokkumalai is a small village in Theni district of Tamil Nadu. Though it is in Tamil Nadu, the approach to this place is only via Munnar – Suryanelli road.
The special attraction is sun rise, which can be viewed by travelling off road to reach the Kokkumalai Sun rise point, after getting forest department permission.
One has to pay INR 2000/- for a group of 7. The jeep ride will start around 4.00 AM. Once you reach there, around 5.30, you wait for the sun.
The moment you see the first rays, will be unforgettable.
