Savanur Fort is near Dharwad in Karnataka. It was one of the princely state covering an area of 189 kilometers. The nawabs of Savanur ruled the place under the British dominion. Now, the fort is in ruins and only the ramparts remains strong. Near the fort is also the world second largest tree Baobab trees – the biggest on measures 68 feet at girth.
