Saru Maru is the archaeological site of an ancient monastic complex and Buddhist caves.

It is located near the village of Pangoraria, Budhani Tehsil, Sehore District, Madhya Pradesh roughly 120 kilometers from Sanchi.

It is an ancient cave, with rock shelters and with inscriptions from Ashoka period.

There is not much other than exploring the country side.

If one is keen and interested in rock inscription or to visit rural countryside, they can venture out here.

An interesting tidbit according to inscription is – Ashoka visited this Buddhist monastic complex while he was still a prince, and viceroy of the region of Madhya Pradesh, while his residence was to be at Vidisha.
