Rohtang Pass is a picturesque destination is a must-visit for anyone planning a trip to the valleys near Kullu and Manali.

Located just 50 km away from the main town, Rohtang La is easily accessible by road, but beware, the journey itself is not for the faint of heart! As you climb up the Manali-Keylong road, you’ll witness a dramatic change in scenery that will leave you breathless – and not just because of the altitude. The stunning landscapes, clear blue skies, fluffy snow-covered mountain peaks, and sprawling views have been featured in many Bollywood blockbusters, including Jab We Met and Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani.

But Rohtang Pass isn’t just a pretty face. It’s also a hub for adrenaline-pumping activities like skiing, paragliding, zorbing, and sledding. And for those of you looking for a romantic getaway, the gleaming white sheets of snow make for the perfect backdrop for a cozy encounter.

However, before you start your journey, there are a few tips to keep in mind. First of all, take a day off for Rohtang Pass and leave early in the morning to avoid traffic jams. Also, make sure to carry warm clothing, snacks, and a thermos of hot tea or coffee – it’ll be your best friend up there. And when renting snow clothes, make sure to compare prices with those fixed by the government.

One more thing – don’t forget to get your tourist permit! Only 800 petrol vehicles and 400 diesel vehicles are allowed entry to the pass daily, so plan accordingly. And if you’re traveling in a private vehicle, there’s a special permit available, but only 60 petrol vehicles and 40 diesel vehicles are allowed entry each day.
