If you’re planning a trip to Sikkim, you cannot miss out on the Reshi Hot Spring, or as we like to call it, the ultimate winter spa experience!

Legend has it that Reshi Hot Spring has been around since ancient times and is believed to possess medicinal properties. So, if you want to soak in a warm, sulphur-infused bath and cure all your skin diseases, this is the place to be! And hey, if it was good enough for the pilgrims back in the day, it’s definitely good enough for us, right?

The hot spring is situated just an hour’s drive away from Rangit River valley, and you won’t have to rough it out either. There are temporary huts available for an overnight stay at affordable prices. Just a heads up, though, these huts don’t come with bedding or cooking utensils. So, you might want to bring your own, or just live on veggies and other daily necessities sold by the small shops nearby.

But wait, there’s more! If you thought the hot spring was the only attraction, you’re in for a treat. Adjacent to the river is a small monastery and holy cave called Lho Khandro Sang Phug. It is said that the water in the hot spring is considered holy due to the presence of this cave.

Oh, and did we mention that this place is perfect for trekking too? So, put on your hiking boots and take a stroll through the picturesque surroundings. And when you’re done, treat yourself to a warm bath in the hot spring. The temperature is just perfect for beating the cold air and leaving you feeling rejuvenated.

The best time to visit this gem is from December to February when the climate is pleasant and enjoyable. So, pack your bags and head to Legship, which is just 6 km away from the hot spring, and around 20-25 km from Gangtok. Take a cab till a certain point and then walk for 15 minutes. Cross the pedestrian bridge over the Rangit River and voila, you’ll find yourself at the Reshi Hot Spring in just 10 minutes.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your towels and cameras and get ready for a hot spring adventure like no other!
