Rajmachi Fort is where history and adventure come together in perfect harmony.

This small village, nestled in the Sahyadri mountain range of the Konkan region, is home to the famous Rajmachi Fort, boasting two fortified peaks – Shrivardhan and Manaranjan.

From Shivaji Maharaj to the British reign, Rajmachi has seen many changes of hands, making it a fascinating destination for history buffs. But that’s not all – adventure enthusiasts will love the thrill of the climb to both peaks, which can be reached by trekking from either the Kondhane caves side or by driving up to Udhewadi village from the Lonavala side and trekking for just 20-30 minutes.

Don’t worry if you’re a beginner trekker – the trails are simple and clearly marked, making Rajmachi an excellent choice for a first-time trek. And once you reach the plateau between the two peaks, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the lush green mountains, waterfalls, and beautiful fauna that surround you.

For the ultimate off-roading experience, bike riders will be in paradise as the muddy roads make for perfect off-road riding. And if you’re feeling lazy, vehicles can take you right to the base village, leaving you with just a 6km walk that can be completed in around 2 hours.

So, whether you’re a history buff, adventure enthusiast, or just looking for a beautiful trek with stunning views, Rajmachi should definitely be on your travel list. Just don’t forget to hire a local Route Guide if you’re not familiar with the trek route – we don’t want you getting lost!
