Are you ready for a ride that’s faster than Usain Bolt’s world record?

Then hop on the Nainital Ropeway, the most popular tourist attraction in the city of Nainital! Not only is it one of the fastest ropeways in the country, but it also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

The ropeway connects Mallital to the Snow viewpoint, covering half a mile distance in just three minutes. That’s barely enough time to snap a selfie, so make sure you have your camera ready! The trolleys can hold up to 11 people at a time, which means you can make new friends while enjoying the ride.

The starting point of the Nainital Ropeway is Mallital, where you can find great shopping places and multi-cuisine restaurants. You can also go candle shopping and check out the pinewood crafts made by local artisans. And if you’re feeling adventurous, why not try some finger-licking good food?

The end point of the ropeway is the Snow View Point, which is 2270 m above sea level. Here, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the snow-covered mountain peaks of the Great Himalayas. Don’t forget to use the large pair of binoculars installed at the Snow View Point to have a closer look at the peaks.

If you’re traveling with children, there are provisions for entertainment at the Snow View Point. You can visit the amusement park or grab some hot chocolate, Maggi, tea, coffee, or soft drinks from the food stalls in the open area.

But before you go, keep in mind that the ropeway ride is chargeable on both sides. Adults pay Rs. 300 for a two-way journey, while children pay Rs. 200. The ropeway operates from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on all days of the week, and it takes about two hours to explore the Snow View Point.

To reach the aerial ropeway, head to Mallital, which is about 2 km away from the Nainital bus stand. You can hire an auto-rickshaw or simply walk to the start point.

And while you’re in Nainital, don’t forget to check out other nearby attractions like the Naina Devi temple, the Nainital Zoo, and the Bhimtal Lake, Naukuchiyatal Lake, and Sattal Lake, all located within 50 km from the Mallital Mall road.

Just keep in mind that the ropeway trolley is hanging on the rope, so be careful while getting in and out, especially with children. And don’t forget to wear or carry warm clothes as the Snow View Point can get quite chilly!
