Mirjan Fort is a large fort around 500 meters from the Panel-Kochi highway in Karnataka. It is near Mirjan town and is known for architectural beauty. According to historians, the fort was built to export pepper to Europe from here. There are different version about its history on it origins. However, in 1757 the Marathas have taken over the fort. The fort is located on the banks of the Aganashini River. The fort spread across 10 acres of land covering large moats and fortifications. It has got one main entrance and 3 subsidiary entrance.
